I specialize in working with adolescents and women in areas of self-compassion and gentleness with their bodies. My passion is psychophysiology - the way our minds, emotions, and bodies interact with each other, and how that impacts our relationships. It is a delight and honor for me to work with clients who are just beginning a new health journey, or with those who are stuck and looking for partnership in areas where they need fresh perspective and support.
Health coaching is a relatively new field including those who get a quick certificate with very little training, and who often over-promise what they can actually deliver within their scope of practice. There are also those who go through rigorous education and requirements, who submit to national standards, who often have complementary degrees, training or experience, and who have studied for intensive board exams.
It is important to know the difference among health coaches so you - as a client - know the quality of care you are getting and what you can expect.
“Health coaching gets to the heart of what providing good health care is about: acceptance, partnership, compassion, and helping patients feel respected and understood.”
I am a nationally board-certified health and wellness coach with a positive psychology training and approach. My national board exams were taken in partnership with the same organization that licenses doctors in the United States: the National Board of Medical Examiners. I have studied psychology and human services at Trinity Western University. I have also been certified through the Functional Medicine Coaching Academy in collaboration with the Institute for Functional Medicine. Additionally, I am an instructor at FMCA training new coaches. I also offer mentoring appointments for new coaches or consultations for experienced coaches who are needing seasoned consulting in the work they are doing with clients. This can be arranged on a one-time or reoccurring basis.
I work with many of my clients virtually through the online platform of Zoom - allowing them flexibility and convenience for scheduling appointments. In-person sessions can also be requested.
